Make a Lamp! -Thrifted Edition

  • Nickey Lauren Design 616 Hillside Avenue Victoria, BC, V8T 1Z2 Canada (map)

Make a lamp from a thrifted item!

With enough imagination and patience, almost anything can be turned into a lamp. Get out and explore the aisles of your local thrift stores. Look for items that you would love to have in your home. Allow yourself to play with shapes, materials, and lightbulb styles (google ‘lighting options’ for inspiration), and with some preparation, we can help you turn whatever you find into a unique lighting feature!

What’s included:

  • Instructions and guidance.

  • Basic lighting components (swtiches, dimmers, plugs, cords, sockets, basic lightbulbs). *If you need help sourcing specific components for your object, let me know and I can help!

  • Vegetarian lunch (soup & bread) and refreshments (coffee & tea).

  • Any tools required.

  • A supportive, playful environment!

***HOT TIP: Try not to wait until last minute to find an item. The sooner you can find your lamping item and can reach out to me with any questions, the better the result will be!

I can’t wait to see what you bring to light up!

Shine on, Nickey

****Thank you to everyone who came out and made this workshop a fun atmosphere! Check out some of the lamps that were created below!
